Story

Hi there,

I have decided to make a difference by creating my very own fundraising appeal for charity via entering the 2014 Pub 2 Pub charity fun run & walk.

Through here you can easily support my efforts by making a secure donation. I would also really appreciate it if you could share my page above or comment below so more people know about it.

Click 'Donate Now' to make a secure online donation.

Thanks so much for your support!

    Haemochromatosis Australia

Haemochromatosis Australia is the support, advocacy and health promotion group for people affected by haemochromatosis and their families.  We are run entirely by volunteers with no paid staff.

Our vision is that no Australian will suffer harm from haemochromatosis.

We aim to raise awareness of haemochromatosis in the community so that those people at risk are diagnosed and treated early. We participate in the annual International Haemochromatosis Week 1 - 7 June, and conduct awareness activities throughout the year.  We provide support and information through our website and social media channels, INFO LINE 1300 019028, print and electronic information products, public information sessions and other activities.

Haemochromatosis (inherited iron overload disorder) is the most common genetic disorder in Australia, affecting one in 200 people. If untreated, it can lead to serious, even fatal health complications. Yet is is easy to treat, and if diagnosed before harm occurs, people with haemochromatosis can look forward to a normal, healthy life.

We need your support to help us fund our informationa and support services and our camoaigns to raise awareness of the risks of inherited iron overload in the community.
